Kazakhstan is planning to implement the "Intellectual field" project at 17 fields of the National Company "KazMunaiGas" JSC within the framework of the "Digital Kazakhstan" state program, the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Kanat Bozumbayev said during his speech at the plenary session of the conference held in the framework of the meeting of the World Petroleum Council, Kazakh media reported October 3.
The minister said the "Intellectual field" can conduct continuous processing of data on the work at the field for operational control and quick decision-making.
"As the international experience shows, implementation of such projects can increase oil production by 1-2 percent, save electricity by 10-15 percent, reduce the recovery time of wells by 8-10 percent, increase the overhaul period by 8-10 percent," the minister said.
The "Intellectual field" project is already implemented on the "Uaz" field of "Embamunaigas" company. According to the results of the first year, the oil production has increased by 773 tons, the electricity saving - by 33 percent.
The minister noted that today the concept of the digital field is replicated to other fields.
"The investments for the implementation of the "Intellectual field" project at 17 fields of NC "KazMunaiGas" JSC until 2022 will amount to about 25 billion tenge. And the economic benefit is estimated at 56 billion tenge. These are very indicative figures," Kanat Bozumbayev informed.
The minister of energy noted that in all cases the economic benefit is several times higher than the planned costs.
The similar projects entitled as "Digital section" and "Digital power station" will be implemented in the electric energy sector in the coming years in the companies operating within the structure of "Samruk-Energy" JSC.
