Projects in the field of agro-industrial complex, mechanical engineering, renewable energy sources, and waste processing are planned to be realized in 2021 in Kazakhstan’s Kostanay region, the head of the Regional Administration of Entrepreneurship and Industrial-Innovative Development Olzhas Saparbekov said.

Saparbekov made the remark during a briefing held on Apr.9 in the Regional Communications Service, Trend reports referring to Kazinform.

According to him, the above projects will be realized within the state program of industrial-innovative development in the region.

Since the program’s launch, a large number of large projects have been realized in the Kostanay region, such as the production of cars and agricultural machinery, the production of construction fittings and rolled steel, a plant for the production of asphalt mixing plants, a house-building plant and others have been built.

In total, over the past years, 98 projects have been commissioned in the region worth more than 180 billion tenge ($420 million), and over 6,000 new jobs have been opened.

"Last year, within the state industrialization program, 5 projects worth 11.5 billion tenge ($27 million) were launched and nearly 400 new jobs were opened. Among them are such large projects as the production of oat flakes at the site of Mibeko LLP, reconstruction and modernization of 12,500 tons of broiler meat in the Karabalyk district, and the production of KIA cars has also been launched," Saparbekov said.

This year, according to him, within the state program, it’s planned to launch 6 projects worth more than 47 billion tenge ($110 million) in the field of mechanical engineering, agro-industrial complex, renewable energy sources and waste processing.

"One of these projects is the Localization Center in the field of mechanical engineering on the basis of AgromashHolding KZ JSC, which was technically launched at the end of March,” noted the administration’s chief. “The facility is located on an area of ​​34,700 square meters, of which 27,400 square meters were allocated for the organization of the production of components for agricultural and automotive equipment. Within the project’s launch, it’s planned to open more than 450 jobs.”

“As part of the development of alternative energy sources in the Kostanay region, the Ybyrai wind power plant with a capacity of 50 MW per day is being built,” he also said. “The project’s initiator is Zhel Electric LLP with the participation of Chinese investors. At the moment, 7 out of the planned 16 wind generators have been installed. Further, it’s planned to continue the installation of wind generators and launch the facility this year."

At the same time, the Aluminstroy LLP plans to complete the construction of an elevator with a capacity of 40,000 tons and a feed mill with a capacity of 30,000 tons of finished products annually in Arkalyk city, with the aim to enhance entrepreneurship in the southern districts.

It’s also planned to start construction of the mill complex this year.
