Kazakhstan to consider bill on products omitted from EAEU Unified List

A meeting of the Bureau has been held under the chairmanship of the Speaker of Kazakhstan’s Parliament Maulen Ashimbayev, Trend reports with reference to the Kazakh media.

During the meeting, the MPs discussed the agenda of the upcoming meeting of the Senate, which will be held on April 15, 2021.

At the upcoming parliamentary meeting, the MPs will consider the draft law ‘On the ratification of the Agreement on the procedure for circulation of products within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)', the requirements for which are not established by the technical regulations of the EAEU, and the rules for ensuring the safety of such products.

The agreement will regulate the turnover in the EAEU market of products excluded from the Unified List, for which mandatory requirements are established. Currently, the volume of such products is at least 15 percent.

The safety of such products will be ensured by individual entrepreneurs, including manufacturers, sellers and importers of products who manufacture and sell products in accordance with the legislation of the EAEU. At the same time, responsibility for the release into circulation and circulation of hazardous products is established in accordance with the legislation of the EAEU member states.

During the meeting of the Bureau, the bills received from the Parliament were also distributed among the Standing Committees of the Parliament.
