Russian Technonikol looks to build thermal insulation plants in Kazakh Almaty region

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Apr. 12

Trend:

Russian Technonikol Corporation, an international manufacturer of building materials and systems, will build two modern plants for the production of thermal insulation materials in Kazakhstan’s Almaty region, Trend reports via Tinfo.kz referring to the press service of the region’s governor (akim).

The respective agreement has been achieved during the meeting of the region’s akim Amandyk Batalov with representatives of the corporation, following which a trilateral memorandum of cooperation was signed.

Both enterprises are planned to be located in the Kairat industrial zone (Talgar district of Almaty region).

“The first plant will produce energy-saving heat-insulating materials - mineral insulation from stone wool. This will be an export-oriented production,” Vasily Tkachev, head of the corporation’s mineral isolation division, said. “Twenty percent of production, thanks to the opportunities provided by the ‘Khorgos - Eastern Gate’ special economic zone, will be exported to China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. At the new plant with a capacity of 1.5 million cubic meters of finished products per year, 180 jobs will be opened.”

“The enterprise will produce building heat and sound insulation for walls, roofs, facades, floors and internal partitions, as well as materials for sandwich panels, technical insulation, fire protection and substrates for agriculture. It’s planned to launch the plant in September 2023,” he added.

“The second will be an enterprise for the production of extruded polystyrene foam - an environmentally friendly heat-insulating material with a capacity of 400,000 cubic meters of finished products per year, which can be recycled,” head of the corporation’s mineral isolation division Alexey Kasimov noted.

Thanks to the commissioning of two enterprises, nearly 44 billion tenge ($100 million) of investments will be attracted to the economy of the region and about 250 jobs will be opened.

The signing of the trilateral memorandum confirmed the voiced agreements. A cooperation agreement was concluded between the Administration of the Almaty region, the Trade Representation of Kazakhstan in Russia and the Technonikol company.
