Over 200 projects implemented in Kazakhstan as part of Industrialization Map

Within the framework of the Industrialization Map and the Regional Map Support for Entrepreneurship 201 projects worth 916.8 billion tenge ($2.1 billion) were implemented in Kazakhstan in 2020, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development.

As a result of the projects implementation 676 new jobs were created in major cities and over 6,500 permanent workplaces were created in rural areas.

The manufacturing by the projects created as result of the Industrialization Map and the Regional Map Support for Entrepreneurship, introduced over the period from 2010 through 2020, amounted to 4.8 trillion tenge ($11.3 billion) as of the end of 2020, which accounts for 37 percent of overall industrial output countrywide.

The manufacturing output of these projects was in the following operation areas:

metallurgy - 2.4 trillion tenge ($5.6 billion) or 43 percent of the sector’s output;

machinery - 758.3 billion tenge ($1.7 billion) or 42 percent;

construction industry - 159 billion tenge ($375.8 million) or 24 percent;

chemistry - 281.8 billion tenge ($666.1 million) or 60 percent;

pharmaceuticals - 101.9 billion tenge ($240.8 million) or 74 percent;

light industry - 46.6 billion tenge ($110.1 million) or 36 percent.
