There was a slight deterioration in the situation with demand for finished products in all sectors of Kazakhstan in 2Q2021, except for the mining industry and the transport and warehousing industry, Trend reports with reference to Kazinform international news agency.

According to the results of a survey of enterprises conducted by the National Bank, a slowdown in the growth rate of demand was noted in the manufacturing industry, trade, and construction. In agriculture, the demand indicator has moved into the negative zone. In 3Q2021, demand growth is expected only in agriculture, while growth in other sectors may slow down or decline.

Acceleration of the growth rate of prices for raw materials and materials, finished products in the 2Q2021 was noted in all industries. In the third quarter of 2021, a slowdown in the rate of price growth is expected.

For all the industries under consideration, an increase in production volumes was noted, the diffusion index moved into the area of growth. The largest growth was recorded in the manufacturing industry. In 3Q2021, the growth rate in industries is expected to slow down.

It is reported that there is still a high level of importance of competition in almost all industries. Trade enterprises are the most exposed to the influence of market competition, where 40.1 percent of enterprises feel the influence of competition on their business. In the manufacturing industry, the share of such enterprises reaches 31.6 percent, in transport - 25.6 percent, in construction - 24.9 percent. The smallest share was noted in agriculture and mining (18.2 percent and 16.1 percent, respectively).

For a significant part of enterprises (37.9 percent), the main obstacle holding back their business activity is dissatisfaction with the state of the economy of Kazakhstan. At the same time, the manufacturing industry and trade are experiencing significant problems with demand for products (30.9 percent and 27.6 percent, respectively), agricultural and manufacturing enterprises note a shortage of qualified personnel (26.8 percent and 25.2 percent, respectively).

In the next 12 months, financing in all sectors will remain largely unchanged, with the largest increase in financing planned in agriculture and mining, and the smallest in trade and construction.

In total, more than 2,600 enterprises of the mining and manufacturing industries, construction, trade, agriculture, transport and warehousing took part in the survey.
