Kazakh Trade Ministry eyes to sell goods on Alibaba e-platform

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 13

The Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan plans, together with China’s Alibaba company, to open a national virtual pavilion, where all Kazakh goods will be placed, until the end of 2021, Director of the ministry’s Export Development Department Omerbek Bashtay told Kazinform, Trend reports.

According to Bashtay, QazTrade Policy Development Center [the sole shareholder of which is the ministry] signed a respective agreement with the Chinese company.

"The agreement was signed in August. By the end of the year, we plan, together with Alibaba, to open a national virtual pavilion at kazakhstan.alibaba.com, where all Kazakh goods will be placed. This will be a separate web portal,” he said.

“The portal will show information about the Kazakh goods on sale. In general, thanks to the program for placing goods on electronic trading platforms, the export contract amounted to nearly $62.7 million. Mainly small and medium-sized businesses are involved in the program,” added the director.

Earlier it was reported that 100 Kazakh companies received a gold account on Alibaba.
