There are plans to resume direct flights between Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia in October 2021, Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov said, Trend reports via Kazakh media.
“The opening of direct flights between the two countries will also contribute to strengthening business relations. The Kazakh SCAT airline will resume direct flights in October this year on the Almaty-Jeddah route,” Sultanov said during the Kazakh-Saudi investment business forum in Nur-Sultan.
“We also plan to renew the visa-free regime for citizens of Saudi Arabia in the near future, which will allow citizens of Saudi Arabia to easily come to Kazakhstan,” the minister added.
The delegation of Saudi Arabia headed by the Minister of Investments Khalid Al-Falih arrived in Nur-Sultan as part of the 5th meeting of the Kazakh-Saudi Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation.
The delegation included more than 50 representatives of Saudi Arabia government agencies, as well as about 30 leaders of the largest Saudi companies in the field of petrochemicals (SABIC, Alkhorayef Group, Aramco), energy (ACWA Power, Aljomaih Energy and Water Company, Desert Technologies), IT (ELM, National Technology Group), agribusiness (SALIC, Al Rajhi International for Investment Co, Hdeim Dates, Faidh International Food Company), healthcare (Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group), pharmaceuticals (Jamjoom Pharma), logistics (Zajil), tourism (Seera), light industry (Ajlan & Bros Group), trade (Saudi Industrial Export) and others.
