Share of local companies in Kazakhstan's state purchases growing

Issues of raising share of local companies in the state purchases of Kazakhstan were considered at the governmental meeting chaired by the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin, Trend reports.

The growth dynamics of local companies’ share in the first nine months of 2021 made up 6.4 percent compared to the same period of last year - from 51.9 percent to 58.3 percent.

Target indicators of the local share were achieved in mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, light, furniture, chemical and food industries.

According to Mamin, the target figure of 77.3 percent (the actual figure is 73 percent) hasn’t been achieved in the production of building materials.

The prime minister emphasized that all necessary measures, including legislative ones, are being taken to ensure the growth of indicators of the local share. In particular, such new options as off-take contracts, an online catalog of goods and agreements with subsoil users have been introduced (234 agreements were concluded).

Mamin instructed the akimats (regional authorities) to strengthen the work of regional commissions to control local activity with the maximum involvement of regional business representatives.

The Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development, together with the Ministry of Energy, as well as Samruk-Kazyna JSC were tasked to ensure the conclusion of voluntary agreements with subsoil users.
