A plant for the production of welded steel pipes of large diameter was launched in the industrial zone of Almaty in Kazakhstan, Trend reports referring to Kazakh media.
According to the information, the project for the production of welded steel pipes of large diameter from 355 to 1420 millimeters was implemented by Asia Steel Pipe Corporation LLP.
It is reported that the products are intended for the transportation of oil, gas, water, and oil products. In addition, the pipes can be used in the mining, construction, chemical, and energy industries. Also, the enterprise has established the production of anti-corrosion coatings.
It is noted that the project cost amounts to is 33 billion tenge ($75.4 million). The plant has created 304 permanent jobs. The design capacity accounts for 100,000 tons of pipe products per year. A land plot with an area of 18.2 hectares has been allocated for the implementation of the project in the Industrial Zone of Almaty.
