Kazakhstan bans export of livestock, potatoes and carrots

The export of large and small ruminants from Kazakhstan was banned for a period of six months while potatoes and carrots for a period of three months, Trend reports citing the Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture.

According to the ministry, the export of livestock and vegetables was banned to stabilize prices and to eliminate a possible deficit in the domestic market.

“We also inform that the ministry will daily monitor and analyze the current situation,” the message said. “In case of stabilization of the situation on the provision of the domestic market, the issue of lifting restrictive measures will be considered.”
