BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 17. More than 722,000 hectares of land are planned to be sown in Kazakhstan’s Aktobe region in 2022, Isatai Espaganbetov, head of the agriculture department, said during a press conference in the Regional Communications Service of Aktobe region, Trend reports.

“Some 722,300 hectare-area is planned to be sown with agricultural crops in the region in 2022, grain and leguminous crops will be sown on a 375,000-hectare-area, oilseed crops - on an 85,200 hectare-area, fodder crops on a 250,000-hectare-area, potatoes on a 6,400-hectare-area, vegetables and gourds on a 5,700-hectare-area,” Espaganbetov added.

The head of the agriculture department said that presently, agricultural producers conclude the contracts for the purchase of mineral fertilizers and pesticides.

“It is planned to use 1,500 tractors, 103 machines for sowing agricultural crops, 1,500 seeders and 1,400 units of agricultural equipment in the spring fieldwork in the region,” Espaganbetov said. “Some 9,600 tons of cheaper diesel fuel have been provided for these purposes. The farms will be able to purchase diesel fuel at 184 tenge ($0.36) per 1 liter, which is by 27 percent cheaper than the market price.”
