BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 12. Kazakh oil industry has seen growth in terms of oil production and exports, Kazakh Energy Minister Bolat Aqchulaqov said, Trend reports with reference to the government.

“According to the latest data, the volume of oil and condensate production amounted to 22.7 million tons in 1Q2022, or 107.6 percent compared to the same period in 2021. Tengiz oilfield produced 7.3 million tons of oil during the specified period. The volume of oil production in Kashagan platform amounted to 4.7 million tons. The indicator of the Karachaganak project amounted to 3.2 million tons,” Aqchulaqov said.

According to the minister, 17.6 million tons of oil were exported during the reporting period, which is 5.3 percent more compared to the same period in 2021.

“Total of 15 billion cubic meters of gas were produced during the reporting period, showing an increase of 8.2 percent compared to the same period last year. The volume of local consumption of commercial gas amounted to 6.7 billion cubic meters. At the same time, due to the increase in local consumption, there is a decrease in gas exports,” he added.

As the minister said, 1.4 billion cubic meters of commercial gas were exported during the reporting period, which is 66.7 percent compared to the same period last year.
