BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 26. Investment projects for the production of meat and dairy products will be implemented in 13 regions of Kazakhstan this year, Kazakh Agriculture Minister Yerbol Karashukeyev said during a government meeting, Trend reports with reference to Kazakh media.
“Implementation of 33 investment projects is planned for 2022, including 7 meat processing plants, 10 milk processing plants, 10 projects for the construction and expansion of poultry farms and the laying of 6 orchards on an area of 165,000,” Karashukeyev reported on measures for import substitution in country.
These projects will be implemented in 13 regions of the republic for a total amount of 38 billion tenge ($84.8 million), as a result of which it is planned to create more than 1,700 workplaces.
“Largest projects among them are 2 projects for the production of dairy products in Kazakhstan's Almaty and Karaganda regions for a total amount of 7 billion tenge ($15.6 million) with the creation of 110 workplaces and also three projects for the production of poultry meat in West Kazakhstan, North Kazakhstan and Kyzylorda regions with a total amount of 10.4 billion tenge ($23.2 million) for 286 workplaces,” minister said.
Karashukeyev also informed that the following systemic measures will be taken as part of import substitution measures:
- financing of projects in the amount of 23.6 billion tenge ($52.6 million),
- bringing infrastructure,
- investment subsidy in the amount of 6 billion tenge ($13.4 million),
- Strengthening product quality control.
