BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 26. Kazakhstan has imported goods from industrial manufacturing for a total of $38.3 billion, Trend reports citing Kazakh media.
“The total amount of imports of the manufacturing industry at the end of last year amounted to $38.3 billion. About $32 billion falls on the industries supervised by the Ministry of Industry,” said Kazakh Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Kairbek Uskenbaev at a government meeting.
The minister also talked about the readiness of Kazakh products for import substitution.
“Aspects such as the availability of a raw material base, environmental regulation, personnel competencies, and infrastructure (gas, electricity, logistics) have been taken into account. We studied the experience of other countries that have already carried out effective work to reduce the level of import dependence, having studied their main programs and strategies of domestic value, we tried to apply their experience,” he said.
