BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 20. More than 700 taxpayers are participants of special economic zones (SEZ), Kazakhstan’s Deputy Finance Minister Marat Sultangaziyev said in the Parliament Senate, Trend reports via the Kazakh media.

"In total, 13 special economic zones, the purpose of which is to accelerate the development of regions and individual sectors of the Kazakh economy, have been registered in the country,” Sultangaziyev noted. “Participants of the zones are 711 taxpayers receiving a pre-emptive right in the form of legally provided tax and customs preferences in the implementation of priority activities established for each SEZ.”

According to him, tax incentives for corporate income tax and VAT from 2019 through 2020 amounted to 128 billion tenge ($300 million), and for customs duties and VAT on imports for 2019-2021 - 244 billion tenge ($570 million).

"Tax revenues to the budget for 2020-2021 equaled 170.2 billion tenge ($400 million). According to tax and customs legislation, the appropriate administration is carried out for all categories of taxpayers, including participants of the special economic zones," added the deputy minister.
