BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 27. Kazakhstan will take the necessary measures within the framework of law if breaches will be detected by LLC ‘Kazphosphate’ Novodzhambul Phosphorus Plant (NDFZ), Trend reports with reference to the Kazakh government.
"Accumulation of phosphogypsum in dumps is an environmental problem, and also poses a serious danger to the environment due to the proximity of Kazakh Taraz city," First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar wrote in his response to a deputy's request.
According to Sklyar, preventive control will be carried out in Kazphosphate LLC by the end of the first half of 2022, on the basis of a preventive control list with a visit to the subject (object) of control in the sphere of environmental protection, approved by order of the Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 10, 2021.
"The necessary measures will be taken based on the results of preventive control within the framework of current legislation, in case of breaches by Kazphosphate LLC. The issues of rational use of natural resources, environmental protection and environmental safety are under the control of the Kazakh Government," Deputy PM noted.
