BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 13. The volume of retail trade in Kazakhstan from January through July 2022 amounted to 7.47 trillion tenge ($15.6 billion), which is 2.1 percent more than the same period last year, Trend reports citing the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of Kazakhstan.

The share of food products in the total volume of retail trade is 34 percent, and non-food - is 66 percent.

At the same time, as of August 1, 2022, the volume of inventories of trading enterprises in retail trade amounted to 1.09 trillion tenge ($2.2 billion).

The largest share in the total volume of retail trade in Kazakhstan from January through July 2022 falls on the cities of Almaty (31.2 percent) and Nur-Sultan (11.9 percent), as well as Karaganda (8.3 percent) and East Kazakhstan (6.5 percent) regions.
