Kazakhstan reveals value of non-commodity exports for 1H2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 18. The turnover of non-commodity goods grew in Kazakhstan from January through June 2022, Trend reports via the Ministry of Trade and Integration.

According to the ministry, this figure amounted to $31.6 billion, up by 20.6 percent compared to the first half of 2021 ($26.2 billion),

At the same time, the export of processed goods from January through June this year increased by 33.5 percent and equaled $12 billion.

The exports grew due to an increase in the supply of such non-commodity goods as: uranium (growth by 2.2 times), ferroalloys (by 57 percent), copper and copper cathodes (by 16.5 percent), wheat flour or wheat-rye (by 82.5 percent), phones (by 92.8 percent), sulfur, except for sublimated, precipitated or colloidal sulfur (an increase of 3.5 times), aluminum oxides and hydroxides (by 95.7 percent).

Imports of non-commodity goods by Kazakhstan in the first half of 2022 rose by 13.9 percent and amounted to $19.6 billion.

The growth in imports is due to an increase in the import of car bodies (an increase of 2.5 times), medicines packaged for retail sale (by 36.9 percent), other ferrous metal products (an increase of 2.2 times), internal combustion engines with spark ignition (growth by 2.2 times), parts and accessories for cars and tractors (by 41.3 percent), phone sets (by 22.7 percent), and electric generator units (by 69.8 percent).
