BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 12. Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Metrology (KazStandart) of the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan and the Czech Metrological Institute signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of metrology, Trend reports citing the press service of KazStandart.
This agreement will allow KazStandart to help Kazakh enterprises in achieving CE marking for further export to the European Union and increase the competitiveness of domestic products.
CE marking is a special mark applied to a product that certifies that the product complies with the essential requirements of the EU directives and the harmonized standards of the European Union and that the product has passed the compliance assessment procedure for the guidelines.
CE marking covers products such as electrical equipment, children's toys, building products and materials, personal protective equipment, non-automatic weighing devices, hot water boilers, medical equipment, radio communications and telecommunications terminal equipment.
Moreover, an agreement was reached on these issues:
- preparation for the recognition of KazStandard test reports (training of experts, creation of a contact center);
- confirmation of compliance of Kazakh products for import to the European Union and CE marking;
- export and establishment of requirements for mutually supplied products of Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic;
- assessment of the metrological infrastructure in the Central Asian region;
- providing mutual assistance at the European Association of National Metrology (EURAMET) platform;
- comparisons of nationally certified reference materials;
- implementation of joint research projects electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
