Kazakhstan reveals annual inflation rate

BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 5. Kazakhstan’s inflation in December 2022 year-on-year reached 20.3 percent, Trend reports, citing the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This constitutes an increase of 0.7 percent compared to the November 2022 figure of 19.6 percent.

Meanwhile, food prices increased by 25.3 percent, the price of non-food products increased by 19.4 percent and paid services by 14.1 percent.

According to the Bureau, the highest rate of inflation in the country was recorded in the Mangystau region, which equaled 24 percent.

On the other end of the spectrum, the Almaty region enjoyed the lowest inflation rate of 17.7 percent.
