BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 10. Kazakhstan’s Atyrau refinery temporarily shut down its catalytic cracking unit, thus dramatically decreasing production output, Trend reports, citing the press service of the refinery.

According to the statement, the plant was forced to decrease production due to the late pickup of the production from the plant’s storage.

Currently, the plant produces around 20 tons per day of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) compared to a normal output of 500 tons, automobile gasoline production dropped from a normal level of 6,000 tons to 1,500 tons per day.

Diesel fuel production also decreased from 4,000 tons to 2,000 tons per day.

To alleviate the situation, the plant is trying to negotiate with municipalities for the pickup of stored products.
