BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 17. Masdar, the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, the UAE-government owned renewable energy company, plans to construct a wind power plant in Kazakhstan, Trend reports, citing the press service of the Kazakh president.
The corresponding agreement between Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Investment Development Fund (KIDF), and Masdar was signed during the visit of Kazakh president Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the UAE's Adu Dhabi.
According to the document, the company is going to build a wind power plant with a capacity of 1 GW in Turkestan and Zhambyl regions of Kazakhstan.
President Tokayev expressed confidence that the signed cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan,KIDF, and Masdar will be fully implemented.
Mohammed Al-Ramahi, Chief Executive Officer of Masdar, noted the high potential of Kazakhstan in the field of green energy development, and expressed the interest of his company in the joint implementation of major projects in this area.
