BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 30. Kazakhstan allocated around 3.1 billion Kazakh tenge ($6.7 million) for the modernization and construction of infrastructure in Atyrau, Nurbulat Bulekov, chief specialist of the "Department of construction of the city of Atyrau", said, Trend reports, citing Kazakh media.

Bulekov added that infrastructure modernization projects aim to improve the quality of life of local residents.

The allocated funds are already financing the reconstruction of sewerage, gas, electrical, and communication lines covering residential buildings.

Other works being carried out in the city include the construction of a 9.3-kilometer main water supply line, as well as a 16-kilometer sewer line from the pumping station.

The infrastructure improvement includes the construction of a power plant with a capacity of 110/10 kV.

Kazakhstan officials revealed the plans to modernize the Atyrau infrastructure at the beginning of November 2022 after the visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the region. During the visit, the Head of State indicated that it is necessary to modernize the existing road network and residential buildings in Atyrau.
