BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 21. Farmers in Kazakhstan’s Akmoly region to receive 51.5 million Kazakh tenge ($115,107) worth of investment subsidies for the implementation of projects aimed at boosting the agricultural potential of the region, Trend reports, citing the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.

Additionally, earlier the government provided investment subsidies worth around 12 million Kazakh tenge ($26,811).

The allocation of funds materialized after the Ministry reviewed the documents provided by six applicants.
Similar programs are operational in other regions of the country as well. Currently, the Ministry of Agriculture reviews requests from 14 projects regarding the allocation of investments in the Jetysu region.

Kazakh authorities are systematically developing rural areas in a bid to improve the living standards of the local population and utilize the unexplored potential of the regions. Rural development is one of the key priorities of the government. To achieve this goal, recently, Kazakhstan discussed the draft Concept for the development of the agro-industrial complex until 2030. The Concept was developed with the participation of government representatives, experts, and business leaders.

The document is expected to serve as a strategy for combating global challenges and potentially harmful global trends, which may harm the Kazakh agriculture sector.
