BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 24. Air Astana will modify the flight schedule from 15 July through 8 August due to the planned runway repair at the Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport, Trend reports, citing Air Astana.

The flights bound to depart at the time interval from 11:00 through 18:30 on the above-mentioned dates will be moved to earlier or later time slots.

Consequently, the company revealed that travel dates on the existing tickets can be modified. The clients can also claim a penalty-free full refund.

The Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport is the key airport of Kazakhstan. Last year, the airport served more than 6 million people in 2022. The increase was attributed to the increased volume of domestic flights. The 2022 figures constituted a 24 percent increase compared to 2021, and a 30 percent growth in contrast to 2020.

The airport also recorded a net profit of 5.3 billion Kazakh tenge ($11.48 million) in 2022. Total revenue for 2022 reached 100 billion Kazakh tenge ($216.72 million), while the gross operating profit amounted to 25 billion Kazakh tenge ($54.18 million).
