Kazakhstan's Aktobe Airport plans to serve record number of passengers in 2023

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 30. Kazakhstan's Aktobe International Airport aims to serve a record-breaking 1 million passengers in 2023, Trend reports.

This was stated during an off-site meeting of Kazakhstan's Civil Aviation Committee.

According to the Airport's Board Chairman, Dastan Maliev, the airport maintained a positive trend in passenger traffic in 2022. A total of 765,000 passengers were served, which is 17,000 more compared to 2021. In the first four months of the current year, 250,000 passengers have been served, an increase of 75 percent compared to the same period in 2022.

This year Aktobe Airport aims to serve a record 1 million passengers.

Currently, the airport operates flights to 11 destinations, including 5 international ones: Istanbul (Türkiye), Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt), Moscow (Russia), Antalya (Türkiye), and Baku (Azerbaijan). Flights to Phuket (Thailand) and Dubai (UAE) will resume during the winter season. Efforts are underway to open flights to Urumqi (China), Tashkent (Uzbekistan), and Mineralnye Vody (Russia) and resume flights to Tbilisi (Georgia) and Kazan (Russia).

This year, the number of flights to Astana has been increased from 25 to 30 per week, to Baku from 2 to 3 per week, and to Antalya from 4 to 9 per week.
