Kazakhstan aims to generate 10 GW of clean energy by 2035

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 9. In order to reach carbon neutrality, Kazakhstan has set a target to produce 10 gigawatts (GW) of clean energy by 2035, Trend reports.

This was stated by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during a meeting with Antonella Bassani, Vice President of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia.

President Tokayev noted that the World Bank has allocated over $8 billion for various projects in Kazakhstan during their collaboration period and expressed confidence that the partnership between the bank and Kazakhstan will continue.

Furthermore, Tokayev emphasized that Kazakhstan is determined to develop the Trans-Caspian International Transport (Middle Corridor). The president confirmed Kazakhstan's interest in long-term investments from the World Bank.

Antonella Bassani informed the Kazakh president about the ongoing projects of the World Bank in Kazakhstan and the Central Asian region, as well as the bank's future plans. Additionally, the vice president shared her insights on the development of the global economy.
