BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 13. The issues of supply of Kazakh energy resources through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium were discussed during the meeting between the Chairman of the Management Board of Kazakhstan's KazMunayGas national company, Magzum Myrzagaliev and Director of the Sanctions Division at the UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office, David Reed, Trend reports.
The Caspian Pipeline Consortium is a major international oil transportation project that involves Russia, Kazakhstan, and leading global oil producers. It was formed to construct and operate a long-distance trunk oil pipeline spanning over 1,500 km.
During the meeting, the chairman of KazMunayGas expressed gratitude to the UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office for their cooperation and regular consultations.
He emphasized the importance of ensuring uninterrupted deliveries of Kazakh oil, particularly through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, in the face of escalating geopolitical challenges.
"In the current complex geopolitical situation, it is crucial that the risks associated with sanctions [against Russia due to the war in Ukraine] do not impede the smooth supply of Kazakh oil, especially through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium. I believe this is a matter of mutual interest, and it is vital that we hold such meetings in such a constructive manner," he said.
Furthermore, the chairman highlighted the pivotal role played by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and the Kazakh Embassy in the UK in maintaining regular contact with British partners.
In addition to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, a wide range of other issues was discussed during the meeting.
