BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 21. An agreement on the implementation of a project to construct a plant for the production of gypsum boards and dry construction mixes was signed between the administration of Kazakhstan's Zhambyl region and Germany's Knauf Gips Taraz LLP, Trend reports.

The document was signed following the high-level negotiations between the presidents of Kazakhstan and Germany.

The project's estimated cost is approximately 15 billion Kazakh tenge ($33.3 million). Reportedly, the project will create 100 new jobs and is scheduled to be implemented between 2023 and 2026.

Meanwhile, in the near future, the company plans to invest around 60 million euros in the construction of the new plant. Currently, Knauf Gips Taraz LLP is working on the design and estimate documentation for the infrastructure. The produced goods are intended for the domestic market.

Furthermore, an investment agreement has also been signed with the German Monterra Qasaqstan LLP for the production of gold-silver alloy called Doré at the new plant. The production capacity will be 10,000 kg of Doré alloy.

The project has an estimated cost of 832 billion Kazakh tenge ($1.8 billion), and it will create 800 new jobs in the Kordai district. Currently, construction and installation works are underway.

Additionally, another German company, SYBAC SOLAR, plans to implement an investment project for the construction of a 400 MW solar power plant.
