Kazakhstan reduces wood imports from Russia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 27. Kazakhstan has imported about 23,000 cubic meters of wood from the Kirov region of Russia since the beginning of this year, Trend reports.

According to the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation (Rosselkhoznadzor), these indicators are 20.4 percent less than in the same period last year.

Thus, the country imported about 28,900 cubic meters of timber from the Kirov region of Russia in the same period of 2022.

In general, since the beginning of this year, the Kirov region of Russia has exported 27,500 cubic meters of timber to the EAEU countries, which is 10.1 percent less than in the same period last year (30,600 cubic meters of timber).

During the inspections, samples were selected and sent for research to the Perm branch of the Russian Center for Plant Quarantine (FSBI VNIIKR) examination showed the absence of quarantine pests.
