ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 20. Kazakhstan is ready to increase its exports to the Gulf countries in the shortest possible time by 100 commodity items worth about $400 million, Trend reports.

According to an official source, this was stated by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, speaking at the first Summit "Central Asia + Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf".

During his speech, the President highlighted the dynamic growth of the region's trade with the countries of the Cooperation Council that has begun in recent years.

"Digital indicators do not yet reflect our real potential. We have every opportunity to significantly increase mutual trade turnover. To do this, we need to increase the range of mutual trade," Tokayev added.

The President recalled that over the years of independence, the Gulf countries have invested 3.6 billion dollars in the economy of Kazakhstan.

The prospects for trade between the Gulf countries and Kazakhstan represent an important direction for strengthening economic ties in the region of Central Asia and the Middle East. Both sides have significant resources and industrial capabilities, which contribute to the creation of mutually beneficial cooperation and a variety of trade flows.
