ASTAN, Kazakhstan, July 28. One of Türkiye's largest conglomerates, Alarko Holding, is set to invest in a series of agro-industrial projects in Kazakhstan, Trend reports.
This was expressed during a meeting between Kazakhstan's Vice Minister of Agriculture, Baglan Bekbauov, and the company's President, Nuri Yildiz, according to the country's Ministry of Agriculture.
The Turkish investor is looking into opportunities to establish greenhouse complexes for open-field cultivation, businesses focused on producing organomineral fertilizers, food processing and distribution facilities, and agricultural research and development projects.
Vice Minister Bekbauov emphasized the government's agriculture support efforts. Producers currently receive subsidies for the purchase of fertilizers, insecticides, bio-agents, bio-preparations, irrigation, and seed. There are also proposals to offer a 25% refund for expenses associated to the development and extension of greenhouse complexes, with efforts to raise the standard to 30%. Subsidies for energy and gas bills during the off-season are also being considered.
The Ministry of Agriculture, according to the vice minister, is ready to provide the required circumstances and thorough assistance for Alarko Holding's projects.
Alarko Holding, a global investment and project execution firm known for its work in transportation, oil and gas, energy, industrial, tourist, and land development, has ambitious ambitions to invest $100 million in agriculture by 2030.
