ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 1. The oil and gas condensate production volume of Kazakhstan’s KazMunayGas (KMG) National Company in the first half of this year totaled 11.7 million tons, smashing the data of last year's same period of 10.1 percent, Trend reports.

According to the company, the production volume of natural and associated gas in the reporting period of 2023 increased by 16.5 percent year-on-year to 4.7 billion cubic meters.

Meanwhile, oil output from the Tengiz field in the first half-year grew by 4 percent, amounting to 2.9 million tons. Associated gas production at the field increased by 3.6 percent, totaling 1.6 billion cubic meters.

KMG's oil production at Kashagan reached 1.5 million tons, marking a growth of 155.4 percent. Simultaneously, gas production also soared to 976 million cubic meters, reflecting an increase of 162.2 percent. The notable surge in oil and gas production at the Kashagan oil field can be attributed to the considerable increase in KMG's stake in the project, which rose from 8.44 percent to 16.88 percent.

The production of oil and condensate at the Karachaganak field has remained nearly unchanged, reaching 549 million tons, while gas production increased by 5.6 percent, reaching 1.1 billion cubic meters.

Furthermore, as the company noted, the volume of oil and condensate production at operating assets increased by 0.5 percent to 6.7 million tons.

In 2022, oil and gas condensate output totaled 22 million tons, up by 1.7 percent year-on-year.
