ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 11. EuroChem, an international chemical company, plans to construct a chemical complex for mineral fertilizer production in the Jambyl region, located in the southern part of Kazakhstan, Trend reports.

According to information provided by the press service of the Kazakhstani government, the complex aims to produce a minimum of 1 million tons of mineral fertilizer annually.

This initial phase of the project, which had been successfully completed, included the establishment of a mining operation with an annual capacity of up to 660,000 tons of phosphorite.

Additionally, a unit for medium crushing and fine grinding with a capacity of 640,000 tons per year was constructed. The total investment for this phase amounted to $126 million.

During a recent official trip to the Jambyl region, Kazakhstan's Prime Minister, Alikhan Smailov, was presented with the ongoing construction work on this project.

Smailov noted that the Kazakhstani government places significant emphasis on advancing projects in the chemical industry. Thus, this new large-scale plant is of great importance not only for the development of the region but also for the entire country.

"This project will meet the needs of agricultural producers for mineral fertilizers and will create additional job opportunities. Consequently, it's crucial to expedite the launch of the plant in order to begin production of this highly demanded product as soon as possible," the Prime Minister said.
