ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 17. President of Kazakhstan has received the President and CEO of Wabtec Rafael Santana, Trend reports.
At the meeting, the prospects for cooperation with Wabtec as part of the reconstruction of the railway industry in Kazakhstan were discussed.
Rafael Santana informed the President of Kazakhstan about the investment projects being developed to launch the production of locomotives using hydrogen technologies and their components in Kazakhstan, the creation of an engineering center and technology transfer.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomed the company's plans to invest about $1 billion in the Kazakhstan's transport and logistics industry noting that this will contribute to the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) and will become the basis for other infrastructure projects.
As part of the Kazakhstan President's visit to the US, a framework agreement on strategic cooperation was signed between the joint stock company Kazakhstan Railways and Wabtec.
