Total harvesting area of agricultural crops in Kazakhstan increases

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 22. The total harvesting area of agricultural crops in Kazakhsta in 2023 amounted to 24 million hectares, which is 652,000 hectares more than in 2022, Trend reports.

The data of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan shows that the total grain harvesting area is 17.1 million hectares.

As of November 21, grain harvesting is at the completion stage in all regions of Kazakhstan. Thus, 16.9 million hectares (99.1 percent) were harvested with an average yield of 9.7 c/ha, and 16.5 million tons of grain in original weight were threshed.

At the same time, 11.5 million tons of wheat were harvested from 13.5 million hectares, the yield was 8.5 c/ha.

In addition, farmers harvested 2.2 million hectares of oilseeds, or 78.3 percent. With an average yield of 8.5 c/ha, 1.8 million tons of oil seeds were collected. 845,700 hectares (74 percent) of sunflower were harvested, with an average yield of 11.2 c/ha, 943,200 tons were threshed.

Furthermore, potatoes were completely harvested from an area of 182,400 hectares, the gross harvest amounted to 3.6 million tons with a yield of 200.4 c/ha.

Vegetable crops were harvested from an area of 165.3 thousand hectares, the gross harvest amounted to 4.3 million tons with a yield of 262.4 c/ha.
