ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 1. The volume of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic amounted to $482 million from January through September 2023, said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Nazira Nurbayeva during the Kazakh-Czech business forum in Prague (Czech Republic), Trend reports.
Thus, the volume of trade turnover increased by 77.6 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
The portfolio of Kazakh-Czech investment projects consists of 10 projects totaling more than $135 million in the fields of mechanical engineering, agriculture, defense industry and logistics.
At the same time, the volume of Czech investments in Kazakhstan amounted to over $308 million.
As Nurbayeva noted, Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic have significant untapped potential for expanding and deepening economic ties.
In addition, the Deputy FM invited Czech business to implement investment projects in Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan’s foreign trade turnover in 2022 reached a historically high level of $134.4 billion. The trade surplus amounted to $34.3 billion, which is 82 percent better than in 2021 and four times more than in 2020.
Export volumes amounted to $84.4 billion. By 2021, foreign sales volumes had increased by 40 percent, and by 2020, they had increased by 78 percent.
Import volumes to Kazakhstan reached $50 billion for the first time, updating the 2013 record ($48.8 billion).
