ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 12. Loading on the Kazakhstan Railways network (KTZ, national company) amounted to 236 million tons from January through November 2023, which is 1.8 percent higher than in the same period last year, Trend reports.
According to the data from KTZ, over 152 million tons were transported by rail throughout the republic. Exports increased by 7.8 percent to 84 million tons.
During the reporting period, 96 million tons of coal were loaded. Grain loading increased by 18.6 percent, to 10.4 million tons. Grain transportation across the country increased by 8.9 percent, to 2 million tons. Exports increased by 21 percent, to 8.4 million tons.
At the same time, transportation of grinding products increased by 2 percent to 2.8 million tons, and exports increased by 3.3 percent to more than 2 million tons.
In addition, the transportation of oil cargo has also increased. Thus, the transportation volume amounted to 17 million tons, which is 1.8 percent more than in the same period.
Transportation of chemical fertilizers increased by 2.6 percent, to 3.7 million tons; iron ore increased by 8 percent, to 19 million tons; non-ferrous ore increased by 1.4 percent, to 20.7 million tons; and building materials increased by 7.8 percent, up to 15.8 million tons.
