ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 12. The exports of products of Kazakhstan's manufacturing industry exceeded $26 billion in 2022, said President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Trend reports.
As he noted, this is a record figure.
Last year, 1.5 trillion tenge (about $3.26 billion) of investments were attracted to this industry. All conditions have been created for the development of processing enterprises. As a result, the amount of taxes paid to the republican budget increased 5 times.
"Now, the business sector is developing dynamically in Kazakhstan. For this, the state creates all conditions. The share of small and medium-sized businesses exceeded 36 percent of gross domestic product. This is a really high figure," the president said.
The number of people working in this field has reached 4.3 million, representing 45 percent of the country's working population.
Industrial products worth 33.972 trillion tenge (about $70.9 billion) were manufactured in Kazakhstan from January through September 2023.
These products were put out in the mining industry for 15.925 trillion tenge, or about $33.2 billion (46.9 percent of the total volume), and in the manufacturing industry for 15.890 trillion tenge, or about $33.16 billion (46.8 percent).
Production growth is observed in the mining industry (by 5.4 percent), manufacturing industry (by 3.2 percent), the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water, and air conditioning (by 5.1 percent), collection, processing, and disposal of waste, and pollution elimination activities (by 5.6 percent).
