ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 9. S&P Global has assigned Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ, Kazakhstan's national company) an ESG rating of 54 points out of 100 in the Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment, Trend reports.
The assessments of KTZ for ESG components were: environmental - 61 points, social - 59 points, corporate governance - 40 points.
The average score in the Transport and Transport Infrastructure industry was 26 points.
At the same time, KTZ was included in 15 percent of companies with the highest performance in the industry in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment rating.
Commenting on the assignment of the ESG rating, the company noted that implementation of ESG principles is a key direction of the Development Strategy of KTZ until 2032.
"The assigned rating is a reflection of the company's efforts in implementing ESG principles and confirms its commitment to high standards in the field of environment, social responsibility and corporate governance," the company said.
