Analysts anticipate rise in Kazakhstan's exports and imports

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 13. The National Bank of Kazakhstan has conducted a macroeconomic survey among professional market participants, research institutions, international organizations, and rating agencies. Trend reports.

According to the survey results, respondents predict Kazakhstan's exports to be $86.5 billion by the end of 2024 (compared to $66.5 billion in the first nine months of 2023) and imports to be $69.1 billion.

At the same time, there will be a modest dip by the end of 2025. Thus, exports will be $83.6 billion and imports $67.7 billion. Furthermore, economists predict that exports and imports will rise again in 2026, to $85.4 billion and $69 billion, respectively.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan’s foreign trade turnover in 2022 reached a historically high level of $134.4 billion.

The trade surplus amounted to $34.3 billion, which is 82 percent better than in 2021 and four times more than in 2020.

Export volumes amounted to $84.4 billion. By 2021, foreign sales volumes had increased by 40 percent, and by 2020, they had increased by 78 percent.

Import volumes to Kazakhstan reached $50 billion for the first time, updating the 2013 record ($48.8 billion).
