ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 21. The world's leading manufacturer of technical gases and developer of technologies for industry and medicine, German Linde GmbH, has expressed interest in further investments in Kazakhstan, said Mathias Kranz, President of Linde GmbH for the Eastern Europe region, Trend reports.
He made the remark during the meeting with the Minister of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan, Kanat Sharlapayev.
Mathias Kranz expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation and noted that Kazakhstan is a strategically important market for the company. Over the past year, Linde GmbH has implemented a number of significant projects in the country, strengthening its position in the local market.
At the same time, during the meeting, issues of further development of cooperation were discussed, especially in the context of green energy and environmentally sustainable technologies.
In turn, Kanat Sharlapayev pointed out that the government of Kazakhstan attaches great importance to attracting investment in the green energy sector and is ready to support projects aimed at sustainable economic development.
To note, in September 2023, during a meeting between President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Senior Vice President of Linde GmbH Oliver Pfann, the company’s readiness to increase investment activity in Kazakhstan with an investment volume of $1 billion was expressed.
Meanwhile, the volume of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Germany amounted to $3.896 billion in 2023. The volume of trade turnover increased by 41 percent compared to the same period in 2022 ($2.763 billion).
At the same time, in the structure of trade turnover, exports to Germany for the above period amounted to $742.3 million, which is 40 percent more than from January through December 2022 ($530.8 million).
In addition, imports from Germany from January through December 2023 increased by 41.2 percent and amounted to $3.153 billion. For 2022, imports amounted to $2.232 billion.
