ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 22. China, Russia and Italy have become Kazakhstan's largest trading partners in 2023, Trend reports.
Data from the country's Bureau of National Statistics shows that China took first place with a trade turnover of $31.4 billion. At the same time, Kazakhstan's exports to China amounted to $14.7 billion, and imports from China - $16.7 billion.
Second place was taken by Russia. Kazakhstan’s trade turnover with Russia in 2023 amounted to $25.9 billion. Exports to Russia - $9.7 billion, and imports from Russia - $16.2 billion.
Italy closed the top three with a trade turnover of $16 billion. Thus, the volume of exports of Kazakh goods to Italy in 2023 amounted to $14.8 billion, and imports of Italian goods to Kazakhstan amounted to $1.2 billion.
To note, the volume of foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan amounted to $139.8 billion from January through December 2023. This is 3.2 percent higher than in the same period in 2022.
Exports totaled $78.6 billion (in nominal terms, 7 percent less than the same time in 2022). At the same time, imports grew by 20.1 percent, totaling $61.1 billion.
