ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 28. The volume of oil and condensate production at the operating assets of KazMunayGas (KMG, Kazakhstan's national oil and gas company) amounted to 13.5 million tons (269,000 barrels per day) in 2023, Trend reports.

According to KMG data, production fell by 1.5 percent compared to 2022.

Thus, emergency power outages and capacity constraints at the Mangystau Nuclear Power Plant (MAEK) from July to September of the reporting year had a substantial impact on the drop in output at the Ozenmunaygas oilfield and a number of other fields.

In mature fields, production decreased due to a natural dip in production. At the same time, the decline was largely offset by an increase in oil production at Embamunaygas, where successful geological and technical measures were implemented on mature fields, as well as the Eastern Wing of the S. Nurzhanov field and the UAZ Severnoye being developed.

Meanwhile, the volume of oil and gas condensate production by Kazakhstan's national company, KazMunayGas (KMG), amounted to 23.5 million tons (486,000 barrels per day) in 2023. The volume of oil and gas condensate production grew by 6.5 percent in 2022.

Concurrently, natural and related gas output climbed by 14.8 percent over the reporting period, reaching 9.45 billion cubic meters.
