Kazakhstan extends support to Tajikistan with large fuel oil shipment

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 13. Kazakhstan has delivered substantial humanitarian aid comprising 15,000 tons of fuel oil to the Agency for State Material Reserves of Tajikistan, Trend reports.

During a formal ceremony held in Dushanbe, Kazakh Ambassador Valikhan Turekhanov presented the official certificate for fuel oil to Sokhibjon Ziyodulloev, Deputy Director of the Tajikistani agency.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Turekhanov emphasized that the decision to provide humanitarian assistance stemmed from the directive of Kazakhstan's President. The aid, totaling 2.542 billion tenge ($5.6 million), is intended to bolster the operational stability of critical energy infrastructure within Tajikistan.

Facilitated by the Kazakh Agency for International Development (KazAID), the delivery of humanitarian cargo signifies a significant contribution toward enhancing energy security in Tajikistan.

Notably, since 2006, Kazakhstan's humanitarian assistance to Tajikistan has exceeded $50 million in monetary value.
