Kazakhstan discloses amount of money transfers with Uzbekistan in February

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 10. About 4,050 remittances through International Money Transfer Systems (IMTS) were made from Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan in February 2024, Trend reports.

According to the data from Central Bank of Kazakhstan, the volume of transfers amounted to 1.723 billion tenge (about $3.8 million).

At the same time, 31,000 transactions through IMTS were made from Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan for a total amount of 9.7 billion tenge (about $21.7 million).

Thus, Uzbekistan ranks third in terms of money transfers from Kazakhstan, and fourth in terms of money transfers to Kazakhstan. Türkiye’s share in the amount of remittances to/from Kazakhstan in February 2024 amounted to 9 percent and 16.5 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, the volume of money transfers through international money transfer systems (IMTS) in Kazakhstan amounted to 187,600 transactions worth 60.3 billion tenge (about $134.9 million) in February 2024.

Compared to January 2024, there is an increase in the number of transfers by 15.3 percent and in the volume of transactions by 11.6 percent.

The share of money transfers carried out in February 2024 on the territory of Kazakhstan is 1.5 percent of the total number and 2.3 percent of the total amount of money transfers via IMTS.

The share of money transfers sent abroad is 98.5 percent and 97.7 percent, respectively.
