Kazakhstan discloses March's regional inflation trends

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 20. Annual inflation in Kazakhstan decreased to 9.1 percent in March 2024 (from 9.3 percent in February), while it slowed in 14 regions, climbed in 5, and was steady in 1 region, Trend reports.

Meanwhile, the National Bank of Kazakhstan reports that monthly inflation in Kazakhstan for the reporting period was 0.7 percent.

The regions of Karaganda and Mangystau have the highest annual rates of inflation.

Food prices fell to 6.9 percent year-on-year in March (from 7.4 percent in February). The Ulytau region saw the greatest increase in goods prices (10.5 percent), while Almaty saw the smallest (4.3 percent).

The increase in prices for non-food products has decreased to 8.2 percent year-on-year (from 8.5 percent in February). The highest number was reported in Mangystau (13.2 percent), and the lowest in the Zhetysu region (6.5 percent).

Prices for paid services increased by 13.2 percent year-on-year in March (compared to 12.8 percent in February), with prices rising much higher in Pavlodar (18.2 percent) and significantly lower in Ulytau (8.6 percent).
