ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 24. A plant for the fabrication of commodities necessary for oil and gas production will be established in Kazakhstan's city of Zhanaozen, Trend reports.
According to KazMunayGas (KMG, the national oil and gas company), today a ceremony was held to lay the foundation of the future plant with the participation of the Chairman of the Board of KMG, Magzum Myrzagaliev, and head of the Mangystau region Nurlan Nogaev.
KMG reported that the new factory in Zhanaozen will produce
51,000 tons of pipe products, 540,000 sucker rods, and 100 oil
warmers every year. The factory is scheduled to begin operation
next year.
Kaskor-Mashzavod LLP serves as the project's investor. The proposed
investment in the new factory exceeds 17 billion tenge (about $38.3
million).
The factory is scheduled to go into operation next year.
"Building a new plant in Zhanaozen is more than just an investment in infrastructure; it is an investment in the region's future and stability. We generate not only jobs but also chances for the development of each local inhabitant, improving the economy and strengthening social stability," Magzum Myrzagaliev said.
Nurlan Nogaev, in turn, stated that this initiative will improve local budget income, thereby adding to the region's economic diversification.
"It is necessary to continue measures to develop the manufacturing industry and domestic production, with an emphasis on improving production efficiency," he noted.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan produced 90 million tons of oil in 2023, which is 6.9 percent higher than in 2022.
At the same time, oil exports grew to 70.5 million tons, up 9.6 percent over the previous year.
Moreover, Kazakhstan plans to increase oil production in 2024 to 90.3 million tons.
