ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 9. The transport ministers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan have signed a memorandum of cooperation, Trend reports.
The signing of the document took place following the results of the Second Meeting of Ministers of Transport of Central Asian Countries in Astana.
The memorandum is aimed at interaction between countries within the framework of creating a favorable environment for attracting investments, developing infrastructure and improving the regulatory framework governing the activities of transport and logistics centers.
At the same time, during the meeting, the ministers discussed current issues of cooperation in the areas of transit corridors, rail and road transportation, as well as air transport. Particular emphasis was placed on the countries' policies to develop transport connectivity, aimed at building roads and railways, opening new ones and expanding the network of international air traffic.
As a result of the event, the Astana Communiqué was signed, cementing the intentions of the parties to further strengthen cooperation.
